We Shopped Over 700 Lists During Clear The List 2024!

The Clear The List movement started in 2019 when a teacher created the hashtag on social media to inspire teachers to help other teachers. As the movement gained momentum, thousands of individuals around the globe began offering their support by purchasing basic classroom supplies off Amazon wishlists. Alane and the Rise Up Foundation supported over 300 teachers the first year and have grown our support each year. In 2023, we shopped over 700 teacher wishlists, and in 2024, we shopped over 700 more. Although CTL 2024 is over, we support teachers all year long, so tune into our socials to see what we do next!

FAQs:

Why do you ask us to register our list?

We ask you to provide us with basic information about you so we can determine that you’re eligible to receive items from us. We shop for verified teachers at all grade-levels public and private across the US. We include all types of teachers including phys ed, music, art, and special ed.

What if we have already shared our list on a public list elsewhere? Do we still need to register?

Yes you must register with us. Registering your list on another site does not allow us to vet your information. Remember we are on a mission to shop your list not simply help you promote it. There are many sites out there you can also share your list with to help promote it.

How do we get our list shopped?

This is definitely the biggest question we get! Over the past few years, we have built a community of teachers that engage with Alane and each other on social media. The fellowship and camaraderie that has been generated is priceless leading to in-person retreats and life-long friendships amongst teachers. Although shopping your list is important to you and to us, we also value the relationship we build with you as part of our mission to support teachers. So our advice is to engage with us frequently on social media through our posts, stay positive, support other teachers as they get funded and stick with us throughout the year as we support teachers every day through different programs and grants.

Do you clear the lists you shop?

We generally do not clear a list because we want to help as many teachers as possible. Each list varies in size and amount so some lists might be cleared and others partially cleared.

My district does not allow us to share our lists publicly. How can we participate?

We understand many districts limit your ability to connect with donors outside the classroom. We recommend you stick within the guidelines and do your best to comment and engage with us where you can.

How will we know if our list has been shopped?

We make every attempt to tag you in our social media posts when we shop your list, hence our request on the registration form for your social media handles. If we miss tagging you, there will be a gift receipt in your Amazon box with our name.

Why do you ask us for so much information about what we’re teaching and where?

We asked for teacher input on how to best select lists and a lot of you suggested special shopping days for different types of teachers or by location so we’re hoping to find new ways to make it fun! Participation in our Clear The List program is always optional so if you don’t want to join in the fun, we understand!
