Teacher Community

One of Rise Up’s foundation goals is to create a community of educators that support and encourage one another. One of the ways we have been able to bring teachers across the country together is by hosting annual #Impact Retreats. These retreats provide an opportunity for educators to come together, share their experiences and best practices, and learn from one another.

The retreats are designed to be a space where educators can connect with other educators, gain new skills and strategies, and learn about the latest developments in education. They provide a forum for teachers to collaborate and share ideas on how to best support student learning and success. The retreats offer a variety of workshops, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities to help educators grow professionally and personally.

ANNUAL IMPACT RETREATS

Napa in 2024

This year’s Impact Retreat is is heading San Francisco and Napa Valley! With an anticipated attendance of 120 teachers, this experience is tailored for professional development, team building, and enjoying breathtaking scenery. Each day guarantees a distinctive mix of enrichment and camaraderie through Professional Development sessions, Team Building Olympics, and a stroll across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

Sailing In 2023

For last year’s Impact Retreat, The Rise Up Foundation hosted a sub-conference with Teach Your Heart Out to take 100 teachers on an all-expenses-paid cruise to the Bahamas! This exciting opportunity provided educators with a unique and memorable experience while also offering a chance for professional development, community building, and relaxation.

The cruise offered a variety of workshops, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities to help educators grow professionally and personally. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to participate in fun activities and excursions such as snorkeling, island hopping, beach parties, and more.

In addition to the professional development opportunities, the cruise also provided activities that promoted community bonding and relaxation. We had team-building activities that helped create a sense of camaraderie among the attendees, and everyone could enjoy the ocean and the sun on the ship.

Building Community 2022

In 2022, we hosted 40 teachers from across the country in Temecula, California for a weekend full of professional development, community bonding, and wine tasting!

Forging Ahead 2021

In 2021, we hosted 7 teachers in California and quickly realized this was the start of an amazing community. These teachers are now known as the “minions” and have been with us in the building of our Between The Pages Teacher Ambassador program.
